Where do you live? Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY
Why do you create?
I can’t help it! It just happens. But I’m motivated to make work that uplifts and inspires others.
How do you bring art into your everyday?
I surround myself with work by others that inspires me, whether in the virtual realm or in my home. A daily sketchbook practice also keeps me grounded in a creative flow.
What gets you super excited about life?
Animals and plants. I’m obsessed with both.
Do you have a favorite artist? If so, who and why?
Will Barnet’s color palettes and forms take me to another space and time.
What’s your favorite place to get inspired?
The woods and the ocean. Or a perfect NYC museum day to take in others’ work when I’m feeling creatively stuck.
What inspired the design for your Standard Wax Label?
I wanted to make something calming and serene. A design that will feel like a little gift to yourself each time you light the candle.
What’s something unique about your work that people won’t see anywhere else? An ability to depict softness and power at the same time.
