I fell in love with Elena Fiorenza Gatti's work based on a random Instagram discovery and never looked back. What you'll find scrolling her feed: whimsy, beauty, tons of color, feminine magic, and (my personal fave) her super fun personality.
I was lucky to work with Elena on a set of candles featuring her art that are available now! Each purchase supports my small business + hers, so it's a win all around.
Plus, the fragrances! Two popular summer seasonals that you haven't seen yet this year. Any guesses?
Read on for a peek into Elena's life and work.
Where do you live? Chicago
Why do you create? I’ve been drawing since before I could speak. I can’t imagine my world without art. I truly feel like myself when I create. There are a few artists in my family, all of which are women and this inspired me a lot when I was younger.
How do you bring art into your everyday? I’m lucky enough to have a creative 9-5 and work on my art at night and on the weekends. I knew when picking a full time job, I owed it to myself to do something that I loved-something creative.
What gets you super excited about life? The possibility of what a new day brings. I absolutely live for mornings. I love waking up early, having some time to myself and getting the day started.
Do you have a favorite artist? If so, who and why? Any artist I follow on social media I admire! I have many favorite artists, some of them are even my close friends! I really admire Monet and Peter Max.
What’s your favorite place to get inspired? In my room, late at night, blasting some caamp, mt.joy or folk music.
What inspired the design for your Standard Wax Label? Something whimsical, magical and feminine.
What’s something unique about your work that people won’t see anywhere else? I hope when people see my work they see a glimpse into my imaginary world.
